Overview

Day 01 Arrival Kathmandu

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport/Kathmandu, our staff will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Evening, dinner, and tour briefing.


Day 02 Sightseeing Tour

After breakfast, visit Pashupatinath Temple and Budhanilkantha Temple (sleeping Vishnu). Lunch at the hotel, and then you are free to plan your leisure activities.


Day 03 Fly to Gonggar Airport - 1 Hr and Drive to Lhasa (3650 M/11972ft) - 90 Kilometers/1 HR

This morning after breakfast at the hotel, we will transfer you to the airport for one of the world's most scenic flights to Lhasa, providing sweeping views of Everest (8848m), Kanchenjunga (8536m), and other Himalayan ranges. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our Tibetan guide at the airport and transferred to Lhasa with an enjoyable drive of approximately 1 hr. It is advisable to relax and acclimatize to the high altitude of Lhasa until the evening.


Day 04 Rest Day and Sightseeing in Lhasa (3650 m/11972ft)

Today is a completely free day in Lhasa to rest and acclimatize. We can arrange a sightseeing tour of Lhasa city. Some of the major attractions in Lhasa are Jokhang Temple followed by Barkhor Markets—a unique street lined with vendors where you can experience the sights and sounds of Tibet, or browse the Thankas, masks, prayer beads, and many other treasures essential to Tibetan culture and tradition. Entrance fees are required to enter these monuments, and the cost is additional, so those who wish to visit must pay the entrance fee directly, while the rest of the group can enjoy wandering around the monuments.


Day 05 Lhasa to Shigatse (3900m/12792ft) - 275 KM/6 HRS

Today the group will embark on a journey to Shigatse, the second largest city of Tibet along the northern route of Friendship Highway. Tashilunpo Monastery is the highlight of Shigatse, as it is one of the largest functioning monasteries in Tibet. This monastery is the seat or official residence of Panchen Lama, built in 1447. It is a sprawling monastery with its own streets, housing areas, courts, back alleys, and a complex of temples and halls.


Day 06 Drive, Shigatse to Saga (4400 m.) - 450 KM/8HRS

After an early breakfast, we will begin the extensive journey towards our ultimate destination of Kailash. The scenic highway drive to Saga is truly picturesque and enjoyable. You will pass several high passes and scenic views of various communities and villages with lakes along the way, and upon reaching Saga, our Sherpa staff and Nepali Chef will cook and serve Indian vegetarian dishes from today onwards for the Kailash Yatra (pilgrimage).


Day 07 Drive, Saga To Lake Mansarovar (Chiu Gompa) (4550 m.)- 510 KM/9 HRS

Today is the highlighted day of this trip. You will wake up early in the morning and have breakfast at the hotel. We are going to reach the sacred Lake "Mansarovar and Mt. Kailash," which is our ultimate goal. En route, we will drive thrugh the highest Motorable pass of this trip (Mayum-La; 5200 m.).

Lunch will be served somewhere near Horchu River, before the Mayum-La pass at a typical Tibetan restaurant. We will also carry some fruits, juice, rolls, or bread on a separate basis that are helpful for our Enroute journey. Today, we will make Parikrama (circumambulation) of Lake Manasarovar by 70% of its circumference and stay overnight in Chiu Gompa camp. While circling around the Lake, Pilgrims will take a short halt at a special spot on the lakeshore where you will take a holy bath and perform puja/worship to Mt. Kailash and Mansarovar according to your own religious practice. Overnight stay will be at a guesthouse near the shore of Lake Mansarovar.


Day 08 Lake Manasarovar and Then Drive to Darchen to Yamadwar (53KM, 1.50 HOURS DRIVE) And Journey Dirapuk (13 KM, 5 HRS)

Today you will have plenty of time for Puja/Hawan (rituals) and holy bath in Lake Mansarovar, the lake created by Brahma in his mind. Some of you can also go for a hike to Chiu Gompa viewpoint stay at the top of the hill near the camp, but they should start early in the morning.

Then later, the Parikrama Group will head to Darchen, to Sherson near Yama Dwar. Yama Dwar is the Gate, from where the Groups have a magnificent view of the south face of Mt. Kailash closely. From Yama Dwar, you will start heading to Diraphuk (north face of Kailash). One can blessed with the utmost darshan (view) of Mt. Kailash southern face from Yamadwar. Parikrama Group will commence kora (circumambulation) after Yamadwar and Kailash darshan (view) by foot or riding horse. Today, the trekking is a slow walk with flat paths and gradual up following Glacier River alongside. In the middle way, we will stop for a while at a restaurant for packed lunch. Then, continue a slight uphill walk to Diraphuk camp with stunning views of the north face of Mt. Kailash. Also, those trekkers or pilgrims who reach camp earlier and are fit by health may also go for further walk uphill for Charan Sparsh (touching feet of deity) from camp if army permits.


Day 09 Trek Shivasthal - Gaurikunda - Zuthulphuk (5800 m.)- 22 KM/9 HRS

Parikrama Group: This is the toughest day of Parikrama. You have to wake up at 4 am early in the morning and start the pilgrimage by 5 am without forgetting to carry packed lunch. The journey initially starts going uphill to Dolma-La (5800 m.) around 4-5 hours then keeps descending to the flat valley region, the other side of Dolma-la pass. You will find Shivasthal at Dolma la adorned by prayer flags and various offerings by prayers like clothes and jewelry.


Descending steeply down from the high pass, you will be fortunate to see the beautiful sacred lake - Gauri Kunda on the right side at the base of the hill. After continuing downhill, you will cross a short
